Un Sospiro Difficulty

10/2/2016  · Hello! I am beginning to work on Un Sospiro by Liszt, and I noticed that on the Henle website the difficulty is rated 7/8 out of 9. I know that difficulty ratings are very subjective and vary from person to person, but in general, would you say this is a relatively accurate rating in relation to other pieces of the same difficulty level?, Apparently others say it’s not much harder but honestly imo the middle section impetuoso of Un sospiro is really more difficult than the pieces you mentioned if you want it to sound great but you should definitely try it if you want :), 9/14/2016  · On a technical level, Franz Liszt’s Concert Study No. 3 in D-flat Major, “Un Sospiro” is a skillfully delivered magic trick. Liszt: Un Sospiro – The Classical Novice, Liszt: Un Sospiro – The Classical Novice, Liszt’s Piece Difficulties Rank – Piano Street, Answered May 20, 2019 They are both around the same difficulty level. At first glance, Un Sospiro looks harder due to the polyrhythms and many ‘cadenza-style’ passages. Revolutionary Etude could be sight-read at a slow tempo fairly well compared to Un Sospiro which would require some extra effort.

The technical difficulties involved in playing the piece include rapid leggiero chromatic runs, often with irregular rhythmic groupings , and passages in sixths and thirds . An ossia for the right hand involving brilliant runs in minor thirds is almost universally preferred by performers.
